Discover VET Made in Germany

Leipzig enterprises and vocational schools open their doors for you and offer you a unique opportunity to experience training in Germany live. You will see how future specialists are trained inside companies, what makes education at vocational schools so special, and which special skills are acquired at operational training centres or corporate educational establishments. The tours start at 9 a.m. on July 2-5 on the premises of Leipziger Messe and will end there at 4 p.m.

Our excursion series “Discover VET - Made in Germany“ aims for all members, experts, delegates, official observers, and guests of WorldSkills Leipzig 2013.

City Sightseeing Tours

Leipzig: During its almost 1,000 years of history, Leipzig has acquired many renowned titles: city of music and trade, of peaceful revolution, “Little Paris”, or “Venice of the North”. Numerous famous personages and creative geniuses such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Robert Schumann, Richard Wagner, Martin Luther, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and Friedrich Schiller have shaped the city. Follow their traces and discover Leipzig with us!

Dresden: Widely known as a „baroque pearl on the Elbe“ or also „Elbe Florence“, Dresden is probably the most frequented tourist destination in Saxony. Formerly a noble residence of Saxonian electors and kings, today Dresden is a state capital well worth seeing. Experience the most important sights such as e.g. the Kennel, the Semper Opera House, and the Church of our Lady, during this guided day trip that also leaves you time for explorations of your own.

Wittenberg: We will drive through the idyllic Dübener Heath to Wittenberg, city of Luther. Experience a piece of world history and meet famous reformer Dr. Martin Luther and contemporaries on your exploration tour; their traces can still be followed in Wittenberg’s historic centre, today. Apart from “Wörlitz Park“ belonging to UNESCO World Heritage and the Luther memorials, there is much to discover. Our program features the famous Thesis door as well as Luther’s and Melanchton’s homes and the parish church.

Berlin: No matter if museums or galleries, gastronomy or entertainment, music or fashion: There is always something new to discover in Berlin. Apart from its legendary nightlife and its attractive and extraordinary shopping facilities, it is, above all, the city’s unique history that draws more and more tourists from all over the world to Berlin. Our bus tour will bring you to the Holocaust Memorial, the Brandenburg Gate, the Victory Column, the Reichstag, the Museum Island, and many more sights and will still leave you time for your own explorations.
